Adventure & Outings

Recovery can feel heavy. Between clinical work, accountability, and rebuilding daily routines, it is easy to forget that the whole point is to build a life worth living. Adventure programming at Arch to Freedom exists to remind our guests of that. It is one of the most popular parts of our program, and for good reason.

Building Confidence Through Shared Experience

Our Adventure Coordinator, Brian Nealy, leads bi-weekly outings that take guests kayaking, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing, horseback riding, and through high-ropes courses across South Florida. These experiences are designed to push comfort zones, strengthen peer connections, and show guests that a sober life can be full of excitement and possibility. For men navigating addiction recovery and mental health challenges, learning to have fun again in a healthy, supported environment is a critical part of the process.

Recovery Should Include Living

Beyond the adventure outings, guests enjoy regular community events and social activities throughout the month. That might mean a group dinner on Atlantic Ave, a night at Drive Shack, a trip to Extreme Action Fun Park, or catching a Marlins game. These moments matter because they build the kind of natural, lasting friendships that support long-term recovery. At Arch, we believe that transitional housing should prepare guests for a full life, and that includes showing them everything that life has to offer when they are present for it.
