Community Service & Volunteering

Included in

There is something that shifts when a person goes from only receiving help to being in a position to give it. Community service is a part of our program because it reconnects guests with a sense of purpose and contribution that addiction and mental health challenges often take away.

Giving Back as Part of Recovery

Service to others is a principle that runs through many recovery traditions, and at Arch to Freedom, we encourage guests to put it into practice. Community service and volunteering opportunities give guests a chance to contribute to something larger than themselves, build new skills, and strengthen their connection to the local community. For men working through addiction recovery and mental health challenges, the act of giving back provides a powerful sense of purpose and self-worth that reinforces the progress they are making in our transitional housing program.

Purpose Through Service

Our team helps guests identify volunteer opportunities that align with their interests and schedule. The experience of being useful and valued in a community setting is something many guests have not felt in a long time, and it consistently proves to be one of the more meaningful parts of their time at Arch to Freedom.
